Last week we participated in the the Rising Tide Society's Recharge Challenge on Instagram. It was a week of really thought provoking daily exercises about our business, what worked in 2016 and our goals for 2017. One of the days was all about taking stock of our time and how we spend it.

While I was thinking about this topic, this quote came to mind:

"You can be anything, but not everything"

This resonates with me, especially, this time of year as the Christmas holiday sneaks up on me, once again. I am rarely not working. The to-do lists only gets longer and while our heads our buried in our businesses, I have yet to design or send out my own Holiday Cards! Eek! When things get busy, the first thing to go (for anyone) is always personal time. Which, ironically, is the most important thing. The thing that fills your tank back up. The think that keeps you sane, grounded and happy. Whether that's an hour at the gym everyday, an afternoon in front of the fire with a good book, a weekend off the grid with friends or a vacation. Personal time is important.

So, today on Christmas Eve-Eve seemed like the perfect day to take a time out and show you a little behind the scenes of one of the things I like to do when I have personal time...

This is Syd. She's my God kid. She's five. And she's pretty awesome! Actually, (I don't know if her Mom knows this - but, now you do, Amie!) being asked to be her God Mom is one of my favorite memories. I'm an only child, so I've never been anyone else's anything - not even someones MOH! But then, I was Syd's God Mom! And I couldn't have been more honored.

She lives on the West Coast, so when she's in town I love to soak up all this Syd time I can. On this visit we got donuts and pedicures and talked about Soccer and had as much girl time as I could squeeze in!

Here's a few of my faves from our donut date!

Happy Holidays Everyone!
