Meet:  Stef & Mike!

Typically, I get an email from a bride about a wedding and we pick a time to meet.  Sometimes there’s a groom with her and sometimes there’s not.  But there’s almost always a bride at our first meeting.  In this case, I was only in CT for a day and Stef was away.  So, instead of postponing, she sent Mike.  On his own.  To meet with a wedding photographer.   Albeit armed with a list of questions, but on his own nonetheless.  My first thought was:  What a good fiancee!  Followed quickly by:  If I made Joe do this for our wedding he would have had me killed.

I knew just from the mere act of showing up sans bride that Mike was a keeper!  And after hearing how he talked about Stef, I knew that she must be really special as well.  And last month at the SMP Bride Brunch, in walks a girl with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and greeted me with a smile and big hug!  I knew immediately it was Stef.  She was, to a tee, as Mike had described her.

A few weeks ago, we met up again (all three of us this time) for a stroll around New Haven, followed by pizza at Pepe’s, where they had their first date!  For those of you not from CT:  You don’t know pizza until you’ve been to Wooster Street!  Mike & Stef were, just as I expected, so so sweet together.  Here are a few of my favorites for our evening on Wooster Street!

M + S, Thanks for such a fun evening in New Haven and for the pizza!  It was so great to catch up with the both of you at the same time, I can’t wait until August! :)

Happy Thursday!

xo,

Suz

And an out take… of course!

It’s my pleasure to introduce you to Breanne & Dave! I hope everyone out there in blog land is enjoying a beautiful Sunday (and Mother’s Day).   I typically don’t do a lot of blogging on Sunday’s but I just couldn’t wait any longer to share…

I was going to wait until tomorrow to blog this sweet little Charlestown engagement session, but… today is Carolyn’s birthday!  And what better day to get your engagement photos than on your birthday! So, here are a few of my favorites from my afternoon with…

You can say we’ve had a mild winter.  I mean, it was 85 degrees last week! Yet, somehow all of my engagement sessions are on the coldest days… go figure!  Whitney and Mike’s shoot was no exception.  But, the good thing about the cold is…

Today was a beach day in Boston.  Did you hear that?! A BEACH DAY!  On March 22nd!  Like a full on get the sunscreen out, bikini wearing, lunch on the sand kinda beach day.  Which is just crazy because only a few weeks ago I…

Sometimes the best locations are right under your nose.  And lately I’ve been loving parking garages.  I’ve managed to sneak in a few shots here and there (like this one, this one and this one), but I have wanted to do a dedicated parking garage…

First things first… Can you even believe the winter we’re having here in the north east?  60 degrees in Boston today.  Are you kidding me? It felt like spring!  I know it’s probably going to be 20 degrees tomorrow, but just for today, I’m going…

Fort Point is one of my absolute favorite places in Boston to shoot (and not only because I get to go to Flour while I’m there!).  I’ve shot engagement sessions in this area before and it’s always a really good exercise to find a new…

A location like this has been on my shoot wishlist for a while, so I was so happy when I happened to stumbled upon it and even happier that Gina & Liam decided to go for it with this “not-your-average” location for their engagement session.…

This engagement session was just what I needed to get me excited and inspired before my 2012 weddings started.  I absolutely loved hanging out with Lindsey and Tony in the Red Rocks!  Even in a mini blizzard the colors and scenery was like NOTHING we…
