One of the best things about being a part of an amazing networks of New England Photographers is being able to learn from one another.  As any professional, artist or otherwise, I am always looking to improve, get better, sharper, push the limits of creativity, search for fresh inspiration and constantly evolve my “signature style.”  So I was so psyched the LAST spot in Justin & Mary’s October workshop (if you missed Part I, check it out here).

To set the tone for this workshop, picture “Cecilia & Clayton” (aka Lara and Peter) Harvard & Yale Grads, run off to the Massachusetts coast to elope at the Annisquam Yacht Club.  Ready… go!

Let’s start with a few of the wardrobe details.  LOVE this dress that Julia (if you’re familiar with J&M, you know Julia as well) wore from Anthropologie.  A seriously awesome combination for a bridesmaid… unexpected, yet perfectly preppy.

I loved all the vintage hair accessories!!

… and Lara’s dress from j.crew… so pretty!  LOVE short wedding dresses!

And the details… It’s no secret that I LOVE to photograph details and the J&M team lined up the very talented duo of Sarah True (True Event) and Lucinda Wesson (Chocolate Creative Design) for the design & beautiful paper details that were throughout.  They were the perfect eye candy for a detail loving photog like myself and they set this preppy themed workshop off perfectly !! Although, we wouldn’t have expected anything else from True & Wesson!

And lastly, just a few more of our beautiful photog bride, Lara (Lara Kimmerer Photography) and her real life husband to be, Peter!  Hair, Makeup & styling by the fabulous Sara Faella.

Perfect day to meet some new friends, learn from each other and get psyched up for a great 2011 season!  Thanks, J&M and Julia for organizing all the awesome details!!!

One of the best things about being a photographer in New England…. actually scratch that there are loads of “best things” about being a photographer around here… so one of the best things about being part of the photography community up here, is just that, its really a community! I’m so, so happy to call myself a part of such a creative, innovative, sharing and of course SUPER talented group of photographers that pay it forward on a daily basis and who I know will become (if they haven’t already) some of my closest friends and mentors.

Speaking of sharing…. Justin & Mary, who we are all proud to call one of New England’s own (and those of us born and raised in CT, are even prouder… and those of us who grew up in Hamden, CT are even prouder-er (??) that they hail from New Haven! Basically my back yard!), but I digress…  Anyways this dynamic duo are back in Boston, and 9 other cities nationwide, for their Spread the Love tour (see what I mean about the sharing? Awesome, right?).

AND, this event isn’t just for photographers – so all you small business owners, check out J&M’s site (here) for more information.

I’ll be there!  I’m so excited to be back up north for events like this, this year! Can’t wait to meet all you new small business-y type friends there!
