So, here I am. The very end of our South Florida vacation and our flight’s delayed! Isn’t that the worst? But, on the bright side, the Fort Lauderdale airport has free wifi (thank god!) so, time to catch up on some emails & blogging!

This post is a big shout out to four fabulous bloggers who have featured my work over the past week.

First, Alexandra of Bwed Exclusive for featuring Rose & Tucker’s baseball inspired engagement session (on opening day no less, perfect timing!).

Second, my friend and fabulous blogger Erin over at Sparkle & Hay for featuring Jenny’s Rustic/Vintage inspired Wear it Again Session!

And the ever so talented & lovely Lucinda of Chocolate Creative Design!   Lucinda designed one of the most creative Anthropologie inspired Save the Date’s I’ve ever seen….EVER!  It just so happened to be for Jill & Dan (who’s engagement session you can check out here)!  Lucinda is beyond talented, so when she asked me if I’d photograph it when she was finished, of course I jumped at the chance to get a sneak peek!  Go check out her post for some behind the scenes of her inspiration for this project!

And thanks to Sparkle & Hay and Cut & Paste (all the way from Italy!) for also posting this beautiful save the date to your blogs! You guys Rock!

And lastly, since I’m still in Florida, check out a sneak peek of Emily & Christopher’s surf inspired engagement session!!!

If you haven’t met Lydia of Dulce Cakes yet, then you should.  She is definitely one to watch in CT (follow here on Facebook or twitter @lavidadulcecake).  She teamed up with Erin (Sparkle & Hay) and I for our Valentine’s Inspired Shoot and taught us how to make some gorgeous cakes & cupcakes.  She even made her own butter cream frosting… which was AMAZING!  I will NEVER buy store bought frosting again!

If you missed it on Sparkle & Hay check it out here, here, here, here & here! Oh, and speaking of Sparkle & Hay… SMP is sending some birthday love over to Erin today!!

Meet Lydia!

here are our beautiful sparkle-y delicious cupcakes!

How perfect are these DIY doily cupcake wrappers?

ta-da!!! Erin actually decorated this cake ALL by herself… and we just love the way it turned out!

Fondant
Ingredients:
16 ounces miniature marshmallows (1 bag)
32 ounces powdered sugar (1 bag)
3 tbsps water
Crisco
1. Sift the powdered sugar into a medium sized bowl.
2. Coat a large microwave safe bowl with Crisco.  Pour the bag of marshmallows and water into the bowl.
3. Microwave the marshmallows on high for a total of 2.5 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds with a non-stick spatula that has been coated with Crisco.
4. Add half of the powdered sugar to the bowl with melted marshmallows.  Coat your hands with Crisco and begin to knead the mixture (warning: it may be very hot).  Continue to add the powdered sugar until the fondant loses its stickiness.  Note: you may not end up using the entire bag of powdered sugar.
5. Coat your counter top with Crisco.  Remove the fondant from the bowl and continue to knead on the counter top.  The fondant is ready to use immediately.
Buttercream Frosting
Ingredients:
2 sticks salted sweet cream butter
4 tbsps milk
32 ounces powdered sugar (1 bag)
2 tsps vanilla extract
1. Let the butter reach room temperature.  Beat together the butter, milk and vanilla extract.
2. Add the powdered sugar to the mixture one cup at a time, blending well in between each cup.
Enjoy!!!
