I first met Wes & Carissa at their engagement.  Like their actual engagement, engagement.  Wes asked me to come out to Brooklyn to photograph his proposal (which, by the way, is a seriously awesome idea for any “grooms-to-be” out there)!  From the moment Wes got down on one knee I knew that these two had something really, really special.  I mean, they had me crying within two minutes of meeting them!  As fate would have it they ended up booking my very last open Saturdays for their October wedding in DUMBO (for those of you not familiar with NY that’s Brooklyn for “Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass”… see learn something new everyday!)!

The more time I spend in Brooklyn Heights, the more I think I must have lived there in a previous life or something.  It has quickly become one of my new favorite spots in New York and every time I’m there I feel strangely comfortable and totally energized by all the people and new landscapes to photograph.  Really, what’s not to love?  Every door step looks like it belongs on Seasme Street, you have killer views of The City, there are bikes everywhere, artsy graffiti, and Grimaldis… enough said!  As if that’s not a photographers playground as it is, add in a gorgeous couple on a sunny fall day… could it get any more perfect?  This is a supposed to be a “job”…. right?!!

Okay let’s kick it off with the ladies getting ready on “Sesame Street” aka Wes & Carissa’s Brooklyn heights crib!

oh hey, Suz!

See what I mean?  Sesame Street!  You see it too, right?

love this one that Jenn grabbed of Christina helping her dad with his boutonniere!

LOVE this moment!

While I was shooting with the newlyweds and their families, Jenn grabbed these shots of the girls & guys having some fun at Brooklyn Bridge Park!

This is why I love to shoot with new photographers (Jenn’s view above, mine below)

How cute is this little Brooklyn local?  She was out with her mom when she saw us shooting outside Bubbys.  She stopped to watch so, we put her to work!  She was the best little helper ever!!

Carissa & Wes watching a slideshow that Carissa’s sisters put together.  Love this reaction!

C+W,  It was such an honor to meet your beautiful families and capture your big day for you!!  Thank you for having me!  Love you guys to pieces!!!

Happy Thursday!
